PPC Affiliate Marketing

Ask any affiliate if they could have made any serious money without any paid traffic. No will be the universal response. Its one thing marketing to your site's visitors and quite another to use paid traffic or a better term would be PPC traffic. PPC is pay per click. Its the most convenient way of getting visitors for your website , where you pay search engines or content network owners like Google, Yahoo , Microsoft. You can also get PPC traffic from socialising sites like Facebook or Myspace. The method is to pay for every click on the links pointing to one's site. There is one Golden Benefit of PPC when compared to usual traffic which is not paid for - It lets you Choose Your Traffic.

Search Engines PPC - Lets you show ads to people who are searching for specific keywords like 40 inch plasma TV , Best selling bike in India, Best UV water filter , Cheap Hosting etc. The person who is searching Google for a plasma TV is more likely to buy it from the Ad link rather than someone who is not searching for it but comes across the ad by chance. The point is that more focused /specific your keywords are, better your conversions would be.

Social sites PPC - Facebook lets you choose your traffic on the following parameters.
Age , Sex, Specific Location ( towns, cities) , Marital Status, Hobbies etc. If you are selling tickets to a local music night, you could choose the right age group ( 18-35), target only your town ( no use showing the ads to people outside), target people who are interested in music, live concerts etc.

Most of the big Affiliate Networks like Azoogle , Copeac , Neverblue expect new affiliates to have a reasonable experience of doing PPC campaigns. Some like Copeac demand screenshots of your PPC campaigns when you sign up.The best way to get that experience is to join an affiliate network, take out that credit card and start running campaigns straight away. A few moments of practical knowledge is far better than months of reading theory. Remember to keep your budgets fixed and keep changing between Offers, campaigns, keywords to see what works better. Eventually you will get a hang of what makes you money and what does not. Dont be afraid of losing some money. Think of it as a fees to learn PPC and Affiliate marketing.

Most people who gave up on PPC campaigns never tried to change their campaigns, or the products they were selling or adding/changing the keywords they were bidding on. They stuck with one offer and one campaign and threw money at it expecting some miracle. Then when it didn't make them rich overnight they decided PPC is not for them. If one offer is not making you any money after you sent 500 clicks to it, go to another one. If you think you are paying too much, bid on cheaper keywords. Even if you have found some success keep rotating things till you find a bigger ,better success. Remember there are some affiliates making millions every month so if you think $ 50 is success , think again.
